The Peshawar Basin

Surrounded by mountain ranges and bordered by the Indus River in the East, the Peshawar Basin is a fertile valley at approximately 300 m asl. Devoid of dense forests, it is not in the prime focus of the Group's research. However, one village near Mardan has been selected as a study site for the Sustainable Livelihoods Survey 2004.
